Review
This was a good story. I like the science as well as the history of the Mayans weaved into the story together. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I give the book 4 stars.
The story starts right off in the action with Keisha’s life being in danger and continues on from that. Someone is trying to kill Keisha and they need to know who and why. I liked the mystery as well as the other aspects of the story. I felt that the mystery was concluded a little fast because of the length of the book but either way it was well written.
There were a few reactions of Keisha’s that I questioned in the book and I know I would have done something different but I guess that we question other people’s actions every day. I also felt this was a little different because it combines vampires and the possibility of aliens bringing vampirism to humans. I also enjoyed how vampires are able to share blood memories or feelings with each other and also how they got Keisha to feel emotions more and enjoy life.
I am curious to read the rest of the series when it comes out because I am hooked on finding out how the story leads to the finale that sounds like it would take place in 2021 when they arrive.
Hey Rachel, thanks for the kind words. Some readers have said they thought the book was too short…but I thought I was done with the story. Then the characters told me in yet another dream (this book comes from 2 separate dreams) that there was more to say, and the sequel almost wrote itself! I like to blend romance with my other love: sci-fi. Glad you enjoyed it.
