If you’re looking for a good shifter romance with some secret military special ops guys thrown into the mix grab this book. It is filled with an amazing cast of characters, a variety of different species of beings, and a spicy romance between a very alpha male and a clever lead female that has a healthy dose of iron will.

Jax is a former Navy Seal as are many of the guys that are now part of Alpha Pack. Alpha Pack is a secret organization that fights the evil that goes bump in the night. Kira has discovered that her employer is not the type of organization she wants to work for and in an attempt to let others know she finds herself being rescued by wolves.

Kira is a heroine that is easy to fall in love with. She is trying to do the right thing when everything she has ever thought was impossible turns out to be factual. She’s a tough gal though. When her rescuer wolf loses his fur and becomes bipedal and fleshy she keeps it together. Jaxon knows that she has seen too much and can no longer stay on her own. The more time he spends with her the more he notices it is no hardship on him. He is quickly developing feelings for the little human he thought he would never feel for another.

I will admit the mating that leaves the puts the couple together taking away their choice in the solidification of the relationship is a bit clichéd. On the other hand it goes with the story and makes perfect sense in any shifter romance. The mating also leaves the opening for someone to want love and biology. It’s a double edged sword. It works for the romance, but I’ve read it too many times. I still thoroughly enjoyed reading Kira and Jax.
