The Rogue Prince follows Prince Reid, a Var commander and Jasmine St. Claire, a stowaway on the Var ship. Jasmine meets Reid at a medical conference where her husband is speaking. She has been in an abusive relationship for four years but she had no hope of getting out until she meets Reid and his brother Jarek. She decides to sneak onto their ship to get away from her husband and be free of his control.
This series is great! Each book is unique in their storylines and characters. Reid and Jasmine are so much fun. At the beginning of the story Jasmine takes pills for her heart condition and she is somewhat cold and stilted while Reid is somewhat of a playboy and is very charming. He has never had any trouble with women but something about Jasmine draws him to her but she doesn’t seem interested.
I have to admit. After the last three books where Reid was so against his brother finding life mates of their own I wasn’t prepared to like him all that much but he was such a fun character. He has insecurities and issues that he deals with as he tries to get Jasmine to love him like he loves her. Jasmine was a little cold but once more of her story unfolds you get a better understanding of how she thinks and I found her a lot of fun.
Pillow does a great job of describing the world so you know you aren’t on Earth but doesn’t over saturate the story with details about the futuristic planet and lifestyle of the races. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
